Sand, Salt and Something In-between, 2012

Interactive installation at Nes Artist Residency in Skagaströnd, a coastal village in Iceland. Part of Site Exploratory Arts, Skagaströnd Festival (S.E.A.S. Fest).

The installation used black volcanic sand from the local beach, Atlantic sea salt, and other found and gifted objects including bones, shells, glass and wax. Piles of sand and salt and funnels were available to visitors to create their own patterns. At the end of S.E.A.S. Fest the installation was swept up and returned to the beach from which the sand originated.
